Communications Officer Akilah Parks is a student at American River College in Sacramento, and previously served as BSU President.
She is currently in the Early Childhood Education program and has ambitions in school program design. Parks is also amother with a son living with his father in Texas.
"I care about what happens to Black students and diverse representations on campuses statewide," said Parks. "As a parent, my struggles have connected me to other parents on campus and abroad."
Parks chairs the Publicity Committee and is responsible for disseminating information to Black Caucus members. She is also developing the Black Caucus' forthcoming website.
