Americans embarked upon watershed moment in history on November 4, 2008. Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States.

Propelled by record voter turnout, the junior Illinois Senator also has become the first African American U.S. President (openly acknowledged, that is).

His message of "Change" and "Hope" inspired millions, and united America's "minorities" as the world watched., and waited.

"Its the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled ," said Obama during his election night speech. "Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America."

Since his election Obama has moved swiftly to assemble his cabinet team.

Obama's Inaugration has caused Congressional offices to become swamped with ticket requests. Obama will be sworn-in on January 20, 2009.

The world will be watching.
